Himmel and the Dead God

Project Role: Designer/Planner, Architect, Artist

Project Date: January 2026

Himmel and the Dead God is a worldbuilding project about a small mouse on a huge adventure.  With the help of a veiled fairy, Himmel quests to retrieve and reassemble the skeletal remains of the now-dead God of Life, to stop the calamity of the God of Love's wrath, lest she and her steed unmake the world as they know it.

This project was made for ConceptCore's January 2026 Worldbuilding challenge, that pushed me to address world building from the early written concepts to environments, props, character art, and keyframes in a sprint format, with each piece having a 24-hour turnaround.

Himmel's tool of choice

Himmel's Ride: Considered steeds, but since the animals in this world are sentient, decided against it in favour of a "mechanism" over a fellow creature.

Everyday Carry: Things Himmel prizes, or doesn't leave home without.

Concept: Environment

The Map, from Left to Right:

Topographical, showing fae's typical and shrunken protective magic radius

The Fae stronghold

The town of Bramblehewn

An early illustrated glimpse into the town of Bramblehewn, with buildings made of grass mounds and old beehives

Himmel's residence

The flora of the map, and the effects of the environmental threat on it

Design Breakdown: World Plan

The first week of this monthlong endeavour was spent designing the world, to understand the scope, mood, and genre of the world. This became the foundation of Himmel's world.
